Aid for Pakistan

The torrential rains and flooding that have affected Pakistan in recent weeks continue, with an estimated 1,600 dead and 17.2 million affected. Some 1.5 million people are now homeless. The United Church of Christ issued a special disaster appeal seeking $300,000 to support the emergency relief If you would like to contribute to the UCC’s effort, please make a check out to Plymouth Church and designate for Pakistani Flood Relief. All money received will be sent on to the UCC.

Picnic Music

If anyone would be interested in providing a song or musical piece at the all church picnic, please contact Kim Manz (kimmanz@sunflower.com). Your favorite song, accordion piece, guitar, violin, banjo, harmonica, saw, tuba . . . all to take place as we socialize and eat - not a staged event as we don’t want to curb the visiting.

Plymouth Handbell Choirs

The Return of Plymouth Academy

Plymouth Academy will be returning this fall on Wednesday evenings, beginning Sept. 22nd.  The evenings will begin with dinner @ 6pm, catered by Maceli’s, followed by classes @ 7pm.  There is programming scheduled for the entire family.  Heather at heathercoates@sunflower.com for more information and stop by Sunday to sign up.

Lunch Bible Study

Have you ever thought, “I sure would like to have a chance to gather with fellow members in my church to discuss the scriptures that will be preached on the upcoming Sunday?” How about pulling some tables together at a local restaurant in Lawrence and be nourished with some good thought provoking conversation along with your lunch? Family Sunday

This Sunday will be a Family Sunday. Sunday School will only be in session for the 3/4 yr olds and 6th graders.  All older are invited to stay in worship with their families.  As always, child care will be provided in the nursery should you need it.

Hospitality Volunteers Needed

Please take one Sunday to help our hospitality team during the 9:30 service.  As a hospitality volunteer during the service, your duties are simple. You are a friendly face for anyone coming in the door. The hospitality team is led by the Hospitality/Safety Associate, Jesse Rowley.
