We are a vibrant faith community in the Congregational tradition of the United Church of Christ, grounded in our Plymouth Covenant and a shared calling to worship God and serve all.

We follow Jesus in ways that are thoughtful, open-hearted, and engaged with the world around us. As a church committed to inclusion and justice, we live our faith in ways that make an impact in our community and beyond.

The Plymouth Covenant

In the love of truth and in the spirit of Jesus,
we unite for the worship of God,
and the service of all.
We seek to know the will of God
and to walk in God's ways,
made known or to be made known to us;
to love one another;
to proclaim the Gospel to all the world;
to work and pray for the progress of knowledge,
the promotion of justice, the reign of peace,
and the realization of our shared humanity.
And we look with faith for the triumph of
righteousness and the gift of life eternal.

Our History

Forged in the fight to end slavery in the United States, Plymouth Church has stood since 1854 as a stronghold of progressive Christianity in Lawrence, Kansas.

It's a mission we carry into our third century as we aim to live out the Gospels in both word and deed, committed to following a loving God as a community of faith proudly open to all who seek to share in it.
