Visiting Scholar in Religion

Lawrence, KS


Dr. Celene Ibrahim is an accomplished scholar, author and teacher. A member of the faculty at the Groton School in Boston, Ibrahim teaches ethics, philosophy and comparative religions. She has served as the Muslim Chaplain at Tufts University, as Islamic Studies Scholar-in-Residence at Hebrew College and Andover Newton Theological Seminary, and as a member of the religion faculty at Merrimack College. She has been a special lecturer at the Boston Islamic Seminary, the Hartford Seminary and the Episcopal Divinity School. She has served as the Co-Director of the Center for Inter-Religious and Communal Leadership Education, a nationally recognized program on interfaith education.

Author of One Nation Individual: Seeking Liberty and Justice from the Pulpit to the Streets, (2019); and Women and Gender in the Qur’an, (2020); Islam and Monotheism (2022).
