Money is budgeted for a hearing loop in the sanctuary that would improve the experience for anyone that needs hearing assistance. Discovery to install the loop revealed that the carpet would be damaged making it impossible to do the installation until renovations in the sanctuary are completed as part of the long range facility plan.
The Stewardship Board is researching a system that allows the user to utilize a small hand-held device or download an app on a smart phone to aid hearing ability. The devices or app can be used in all church locations and would not become obsolete after a hearing loop is installed in the sanctuary. Before any demos are scheduled or financial commitments made, it would be helpful to know how many people would benefit from hearing assistance devices so that the system would be configured appropriately.
