Do you remember last year, when we hosted the best ice cream social ever?
It was amazing.
Witnessing our community come together for an afternoon of face paint, photo booths, and rainbow sherbet made it clear that the people of Lawrence want to support and affirm the value of the LGBTQ+ community. They are looking for safe spaces in which they can celebrate the beauty of all loving relationships and the whole spectrum of gender identity and expression. Even more importantly, our Pride Party sent a clear message to our community : a church can be that safe space.
Plymouth did not just invite people to listen to fantastic music and play yard games in a park. We loudly declared that we support and love the LGBTQ+ community and that, by extension, God does too. So many people in our world are desperately in need of this message. Our Pride Party is an opportunity to shout the good and joyful news of God’s love. And if doing that involves rainbow sherbet, all the better!
Please join us as we loudly and proudly share God’s love for the LGBTQ+ community.
Our annual Pride Party will be from 4-6pm on Sunday, June 11th at the bandstand in South Park.
If you are interested in volunteering, stay tuned! More information and sign up sheets will be coming shortly.
